Official Kokikai Test Requirements

Ki - Coordination of mind and body in human being is the strongest state. This is the state of radiating energy.

Ki Test - We understand that the mind rules (controls) the body. We test the body in order to “see” the mind. Then we can see if the mind and body are coordinated or not.

Technique - Practice not only to throw people. Understand why we can throw and how we can throw. You must understand the logical idea. We understand that strong is correct but, more importantly, correct is strong.

6th Kyu

Ki Test

  • Seiza with mind/body coordination

  • Standing posture with mind/body coordination

  • Seiza to Standing posture and back (movement) with mind/body coordination

  • Unbendable arm with mind/body coordination

  • Ushiro Ukemi with mind/body coordination

Techniques (all with finish)

  • Katate Tori Shihonage (Irimi and Tenkan)

  • Mune Tsuki Kote Gaeshi (chudan-tsuki – mid level punch)

  • Kata Tori Ikkyo

  • Ushiro Kubishime Kokyu Nage

(MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 4 months training)

5th Kyu

  • Katate Tori Shihonage Nage (Irimi, Tenkan)

  • Kata Tori Ikkyo (Tenkan)

  • Yokomen Uchi Shiho Nage (Irimi, Tenkan)

  • Seiza Kokyu Nage – Uke (Ukemi)

4th Kyu

  • Any technique against Keri (Front, Roundhouse, Side)

  • Five techniques against Ushiro Tekubi Tori
